Abstract: Muli Coalfield is rich in resources. Natural gas hydrates have become a hot research since natural gas hydrates were found in Sanlutian of Muli Coalfield in 2008. In order to the analysis of the relationship between formation of natural gas hydrates and coal bed, through field geological drilling and results analysis, combined with contrastive study of geological features and occurrence characteristics of natural gas hydrates in DK12-13, DK8-19 and DK4-24 drilling in the study area, the functions of the gas source, migration pathway, reservoir stratum of coal bed on the formation of natural gas hydrates are discussed. It is found that the formation of natural gas hydrates is genetically related to coal bed in Sanlutian.
